Welcome to The Village Wholefood Store. Unlike many of the chains of Health Food Stores, as our name implies, The Village Wholefood Store is a Health and Whole food store as well as a Village Shop.
We are not a busy high street health food store, customer service is essential to our survival. You can rest assured that at the Village Wholefood Store “Each and every customer matters!”
We try to serve our local community by providing what everyone wants from a corner shop. In addition we offer the chance for our customers to do their bit for their own health, animal welfare, the planet’s sustainable development, justice and equity by offering; organic, fair trade, environmentally friendly and special dietary products, from organic/free range eggs to bio-degradable bin bags.
Many of you think that local shops or health food stores are expensive, we have asked our customers to let us know what they think about our pricing and some have told us that on many products we have fair prices and sometimes even cheaper ones. Our guidelines are recommended retail prices on all relevant products, we pass on manufacturers’ special offers and on occasions we offer some products on “sale”!
The Village Wholefood Store’s opening hours are: Monday to Saturday 09.00 am to 05.30 pm plus occasional special occasion weekend opening – please ask.
Many of our customers have told us they prefer to visit our health food store in person. So we don’t yet offer the chance to buy online but we can take your orders by card over the telephone.

If we don’t have it we will try and get it!! Just drop in or call 020 8366 5108.
Nestling in one of Enfield’s treasured Conservation Areas of Forty Hill and Bulls Cross, The Village Wholefood Store has gone through many changes over many years. It existed as a health food store together with the butcher’s, post office, hairdressers, village store and the Goat Pub which are all now long gone. But together with the newsagents J & A News next door we are still at the heart of Forty Hill Village. So here in Forty Hill you can get many of your every day basics and special dietary needs all in one place.
J & A News offer the usual daily and weekly local and national papers, magazines, sweets, ice cream and everyday basics including fresh bread, milk, biscuits and some frozen foods.
In addition they sell: lottery tickets, phone top ups, travel tickets etc.
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday.....................................
We are a short walk from..
...FORTY HALL, Enfield’s “Jewel in the Crown”, a Grady I listed building which hosts a variety of exhibitions and events. The Hall is located within its historical gardens and a beautiful country park with lakes and its own brook. From the Hall there is a choice of walks, around Enfield or continuing the London Loop. It is truly a beautiful spot for occasional culture and a lovely country walk. Why combine a day out with a visit to The Village Wholefood Store.
