“Organic foods are made in a fashion that limits or excludes the use of synthetic materials during production.Under organic production, the use of conventional non-organic pesticides, insecticides and herbicides is greatly restricted and saved as a last resort. If livestock are involved, they must be reared without the routine use of antibiotics, without the use of growth hormones and generally fed a healthy diet. In some countries, organic produce may not be genetically modified and it has been suggested that the application of nanotechnology is a further technology that needs to be excluded from certified organic food. The Soil Association (UK) has been the first organic certifier to implement a nano-exclusion.”

We at the Village Wholefood Store wholly support organic foods and its production as a way for us all to maintain a more natural way of life and diet to support our health. We are continually trying to source and buy more local organic foods including fresh produce but supply fluctuates from around the country as well as with imported goods.

Organic fruit and vegetables delivered fresh every Thursday morning. Non organic fruit and veg delivered twice a week.
